About Whitney Mick, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC
Meet Whitney Mick, a family nurse practitioner based in Durango, Colorado. She obtained her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from Colorado Mesa University, where she underwent clinical training in Grand Junction and Durango. Whitney has been working as a nurse since 2007 when she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Mesa State College. Her extensive nursing background ranges from inpatient hospital care to outpatient services, including specialties like medical surgical, orthopedics, oncology, cardiology, and cardiac stress testing.
Whitney moved to Durango to attend Fort Lewis College, where she played a crucial role in forming the women’s soccer team from a club sport to a Division II Team. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Exercise Science, focusing on Athletic Training and Fitness/Outdoor Leisure. She takes pride in incorporating her education and diverse experience into family medicine.
