Tim DaGiau, MHA, is a Billing Specialist at Axis Health System. Recently, a patient shared a story highlighting Tim’s dedication to providing a five-star patient experience.

This man reached out to 20 different providers to find me the most affordable places in the area, then sent me that list! I’ve never worked in his position before, but if I had to guess, I’d say that wasn’t in his job description! Not only is Tim an advocate in his work, but his passion and heart are in listening to, learning from, providing advice, and being a fierce supporter of members of the disability community, especially those new to it, who simply need empathy and understanding. He developed severe epilepsy at the age of 10. Thousands of seizures and five neurosurgeries later left him paralyzed for months on a path filled with multiple health directions. Once a curse, has become a blessing to Tim, he has used his condition as a source of empowerment.
Tim served on the Commission for People with Disabilities, a mayor-appointed role in Denver that oversaw disability policy, a member of the Regional Transportation District’s ADA advisory committee. Tim is currently a co-chair of the Legislative and Public Policy Committee, a Colorado governor-appointed role for the Developmental Disabilities Council.
He holds a master’s in healthcare administration and is preparing to start his PhD in the same field this upcoming year to be armed with more objective information to make a change in the healthcare system. Tim strives to have a legacy of being a transformative leader in the disability rights movement. He feels lucky to be working with Axis’ team of authentically caring and passionate members.
