Amber Goldberg brings a unique blend of discipline, empathy, and expertise to her new role as a Wellness Coach at Axis. Hailing from New Hampshire, Amber grew up in Pagosa Springs and currently resides in Lewis. A four-year veteran of the Air Force, Amber utilized her GI Bill to earn a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and is now working on her Master of Social Work to fulfill her childhood dream of becoming a therapist.

Before joining Axis, she worked as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) for two years, delivering Applied Behavioral Analysis Therapy to support children on the autism spectrum in making behavioral changes. Amber said, “In addition to helping children, I have a special interest in working with veterans, because I can relate to them, especially those veterans who may be best served by working with a peer.”

Amber has always found fulfillment in listening to people’s stories and offering comfort during challenging times. Her role as a Wellness Coach at Axis Health System allows her to provide primary care patients with essential resources for their behavioral health. Amber offers brief interventions and coping skills, and she is always ready to lend a listening ear. She also plays a crucial role in referring patients to licensed therapists when they require a higher level of care.

At Axis, Amber leverages her background and expertise to ensure that every patient receives the attention and support they need for their mental well-being. She’s a dedicated partner in her patients’ health journeys, providing them with the tools they need to thrive.
