“There are interconnected threads to a community like Cortez,” said Dr. Aaron Montaño, a psychiatrist who recently joined the team at Cortez Integrated Healthcare. One of those threads pulled him back to practice in his hometown, where he’s raising his two kids and living near supportive family and friends.
Dr. Montaño says his approach to care is about relationships: “What I always go back to is that this is a treatment relationship…. It’s not your work, it’s not my work… it’s our work.”
